I’ve long suspected that a lot of our individual understanding regarding what we read in the Bible, and what we think of God’s personality, etc., are actually based off of natural experiences and traditions. If you’ve had an earthly father and/or mother who was/were there for you, and who provided for you, it won’t be all that difficult to lock into the concept of a God who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us [Ephesians 3:20 [NIV]].
However, what Ephesians 3:20 states is exactly what God is capable of. For anyone who hasn’t had a superb symbolically equivalent relationship with an earthly father and/or mother, spending time researching God, and experiencing His provisions is the only way to build that deep confidence and faith.
Without the full realization of our identity in Christ Jesus, it will be nigh impossible for us to completely fulfill our destiny here on Earth. So, let us continue diving deep into the knowledge of Him. Therein is our identify unveiled, and we grow in faith and over time, change our mode of operating to match His. Until His ways and approaches become our full tradition.
[Aside: even if you have had amazing parents to learn concepts off of, what God is capable of far supersedes it.]
